The Mighty Oak
I’m grateful to share a small but meaningful milestone: The Mighty Oak received an Award of Merit in the 59th National Mother Lode Art Exhibition, presented by the Placerville Arts Association and juried by Leslie McCarron.
This image has long felt like a quiet anchor in my work—rooted in the themes I return to again and again: potential, growth, endurance, and the way something mighty can rise from the most unassuming beginnings. Seeing it recognized among so many strong submissions is both encouraging and humbling.
Thank you to the Placerville Arts Association for continuing this longstanding exhibition, and to Judge Leslie McCarron for the thoughtful selection.
And to everyone who follows my work, supports it, or even pauses with one of my photographs for a moment—thank you. That attention, however small, keeps the journey moving.
